Former Occupation: Family Readiness Officer Current Occupation: Program Manager
As a military spouse, my family has made six moves in 11 years. I initially worked as a family readiness officer, assisting Marines and their families, until we moved from Okinawa, Japan, to Baltimore. I took a position as a customer services representative and later became a career coach at Johns Hopkins Health Systems.
I took advantage of Hopkins’ online course system to earn certifications in my own time. Then the stars aligned, I was accepted to University of California as we got orders to Camp Pendleton. I complimented my studies with courses in the digital marketing program at Green Fig, a micro education company. Today I work as a program manager for a human resources organization. In addition, I am increasingly involved in digital marketing, a role I can continue to work in remotely.
